Darshan Project is a kaleidoscopic fusion of Hip Hop, Rock, World, Psychedelic and Jewish music like you’ve never heard before.
Inspired by the mystical poetry and songs of Judaism, Brooklyn based Darshan breathes new life into ancient Hebrew and Aramaic texts. With a deep interest in the connection between music, poetry and their own religious experiences, K Records indie rapper ePRHYME, singer Basya Schechter of Pharoah's Daughter and singer aShir Yaakov turn classic texts and traditional prayers into contemporary arrangements, creating relatable, accessible and danceable music for the people.
Eden Pearlstein (ePRHYME) is a veteran Hip Hop MC with over a decade of experience on stage and in the studio. From the West-Coast Underground (K Records) to the shtetls of Brooklyn and beyond (Shemspeed), Eden has been fusing his musings on Jewish identity, history and mysticism with energetic beats and a well-crafted cadence that is both classic and cutting-edge. Additionally, Eden holds 2 Master's Degrees in Experiential Jewish Education and Jewish Thought and Philosophy from JTS. Aside from music, Eden is also a freelance editor for books on contemporary Jewish spirituality and a self-proclaimed "rogue scholar" and itinerant educator. http://www.eprhyme.com
